About the Victor Chang Heart Health Check

Launched in 2011, the Victor Chang Heart Health Check is a not-for-profit social enterprise health testing service that is fully mobile, bringing heart health checks to locations all across Australia.

Operated by the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, our Heart Health Check service travels around Australia reaching communities across the country. We have qualified Heart Health Check Specialists based all around Australia who have visited hundreds of different locations, to screen Australians for key heart disease risk factors - blood pressure, total cholesterol, and blood sugar.

We also have free locations and dates for the Victor Chang Heart Health Check for the general public that has been made possible with thanks to our official partners and sponsors. Since the launch of the Heart Health Check, we have tested over 90,000 people and typically test in more than 60 locations each year!

Our Heart Health Checks have discovered that:

• 45% of test participants had at least one result outside what was considered healthy and were recommended to visit their GP for follow up
• 30% of test participants had high cholesterol
• 50% of test participants did not know their blood pressure

What does our Heart Health Check Service provide?

Providing on-site assessments, the Heart Health Check is a fully portable service which can be set up in any location. It makes heart health checks convenient, accessible and hassle-free by bringing the testing to your workplace, business or event.

In as little as 10 minutes, our team of Heart Health Check specialists can take on-the-spot measurements of a person’s blood pressure, total cholesterol, and blood sugar levels, using the latest technology and equipment. Our Heart Health Check specialist will then provide you with personalised recommendations based on the modifiable heart disease risk factors and a take-home results sheet.

The testing service is operated by trained professional staff who can conduct up to 100 individual health checks per day. Tests are conducted by a Heart Health Specialist in a private, branded, and fully equipped set-up. Our specialists use fast, reliable, and use non-invasive testing equipment.
